01-10 JUN 2023 – my first trip to Denmark. My friend Lexie came and played tour guide for me, and we met up with our mutual friend Melina and her husband Niels (who is Danish). I was impressed by how many urban sketches I fit into this trip. I was very proud of Lexie also trying out some urban sketching. Enjoy,
Møllestien – a cute street of small Danish houses in Aarhus. Den Gamble By in Aarhus, Denmark – historic Danish buildings.Antvorskov Monastery in Slagelse, Denmark. It’s the Nordic HQ for The Order of St John.Kronberg Castle, Helsingør, Denmark (inspiration/ home of Shakespeare’s story of Hamlet)The Marble Church, Copenhagen. The Twelve Apostles are painted in the dome.Nyhavn, Copenhagen – this took about 1.5hrs, and was definitely a memorable evening. Copenhagen temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.Thorvaldsen‘s Christus statue in The Church of Our Lady, Copenhagen.Melina’s husband Niels was the only Dane among us, and provided a quick and handy source of answering many questions.I was so happy with our trip that I made a trip montage painting, which isn’t something I usually do.
