New Zealand 2019

This trip was a particularly prolific time for urban sketching. I averaged at least a sketch a day and felt very free in both my travel schedule and artistic expression.

This is an icon of Wellington, NZ, but was not done on this trip. These were done as birthday presents, and were actually based off of a photo. The blue streaks represent the iconic wind in, “Windy Wellington.”
This is a retrofitted school bus made for touring. It was drawn in Seattle (little did I know these two Kiwis were at the start of their cross-country trip…). The decorations and writing on the bus were blissfully pure Kiwiana. You can follow the trip on Instagram @thekiwiwaka.
