It’s been awhile since I’ve done any mixed media or collage work, so this year I thought I would do some studies and get back in the groove.

January and the winter months are usually a time when I indulge in listening to a lot of Sherlock Holmes novels – either origional short stories, or pastiche. In honor of that, I used some of the originally published illustrations to make this collage study:

For February I made a set of Valentine’s Day cards for friends. Some are more obviously for this occasion than others. It was fun to customize them.
