Michelle Quinn New Zealand 2006-2008 BOOK, 2008

This book was made before the digital book printing craze and ease of use websites flourished with plug-and-chug templates. At the time of this print, blurb.com had only been around 3 years. As I was living overseas, I was oblivious to internet-based print services. Instead I used a local book service (First Edition Publishers, NZ) to do a private print run of this project. I believe the minimum order requirement was something like 12, so that’s what I did.

This book also marks the start of my use of Photoshop to make digitally printed scrapbooks. This project aesthetic and style was specifically influenced by The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones. Thank you very much Mr Adventure.

The book was designed to document my first few years living and working in New Zealand, so I could share what I had been up to with family, and extended family. I had a planned multi-week trip back to the states in early 2009, and brought these books in tow to pass around and share.

Enjoy a sampling from this project – note that page layouts have not been seamed together for this gallery.
